YOUNG INVESTIGATOR TRAVEL STIPENDS
& AHA YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS

The American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Radiology and Intervention will again be providing support for Young Investigators (residents, postdocs, fellows and students) who demonstrate potential for cardiovascular imaging. The three (3) top oral presentations by participating trainees will each be awarded $1,500 Young Investigator Awards. In addition, the North American Society for Cardiac Imaging’s, member supported Research & Education Fund will sponsor 10 - $500 Travel Stipends for the next best ten (10) oral or poster presenters. We encourage all trainees that are involved in cardiovascular imaging research to submit abstracts for poster and/or oral presentation.

Three weeks after the May 30, 2008 abstract deadline, based upon an evaluation of their abstracts and travel award applications, the selection committee will notify the top 13 Young Investigator candidates that they will receive at least a $500 travel stipend. From that group, the presentations of those that have abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be judged by the committee and the top three will be awarded the AHA YI Travel Awards at an additional $1,000.

To be considered for the AHA YI Travel Awards or the NASCI Research & Education travel stipends, the application process is simple: At the time of your abstract submission, please indicate that your abstract should be considered for “either Oral or Poster presentation” AND SELECT YES for the Young Investigator Awards/Travel Stipends.
