Cardiac CT & MR Training Opportunities:

October 22-26, 2007: Cardiac CT & MR Seminar with Optional Supervised Review of 50 Cases toward Level II Certification
 

Designed for radiologists and cardiologists in clinical practice who wish to meet Level II training guidelines.

Part I is a 3 ½ day seminar which will meet the didactic requirement for Cardiac CT and contribute to the didactic requirement for Cardiovascular MR.

Part II is an optional case review session and will involve manipulation of data from at least 50 Cardiac CT cases on thin-client workstation and review of those cases with an instructor. Video demonstrations of data acquisition will be available for 25 cases.

Fees:

  • Part I - $1600
  • Part II - $1000 (Individual must complete Part I before enrolling in Part II)

Credits:

  • Part I - 28.75
  • Part II - 8.5

Three-month Visiting Cardiovascular Fellowship

This fellowship is divided into clinical and didactic components. The majority of the clinical component will be spent participating in the busy cardiovascular imaging service in the Department of Radiology Additionally, up to one-week blocks may be devoted to optional rounds in cardiac nuclear medicine and stress-testing; echocardiography and interventional; vascular interventions and pediatric cardiovascular CT & MR (at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia-adjacent to HUP). An individualized schedule will be arranged for each participant prior to beginning the fellowship. Please note that not all of the options listed above may be available at all times. This fellowship is available for up to two physicians per quarter.

The didactic component (including 50 hours required to satisfy the ACC/AHA Level II guidelines) will include participation in the Cardiovascular CT & MR seminar offered in the department twice a year. The seminar provides 28.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(tm) toward the ACC/AHA Level II guidelines. Additional didactic time will be accumulated through attendance at daily clinical and radiology conferences. The tuition for the seminar will be included in the fee for the three-month fellowship. Visiting fellows are strongly encouraged to schedule their three-month fellowship to overlap with one of the seminars, although we will attempt to accommodate those for whom such arrangements are not possible by allowing them to attend the Part I either before or after their three-month fellowship.

Please provide background information. If we are able to accommodate your preferred time, Dr. Litt will respond with a letter of invitation. At that time, we will ask that you provide a letter from your current supervisor and a letter from whomever will be sponsoring you. If you are coming from overseas, please allow at least three months to obtain a visa to visit the United States for the three-month period. Our GME office requires documentation of immunizations, PPD status, and health insurance for visitors who will spend time in clinical areas.

One-Month Visiting Fellowship

Physicians will have the opportunity to participate in study acquisition and analysis as well as review and document teaching files at a workstation. This work will be certified upon completion of visit with a letter documenting cases completed. This documentation may be used towards meeting the ACC/AHA Guidelines for Level II Training in Cardiac CT or Cardiovascular MR. CT only or MR& CT cases will be available. Limited enrollment.

Tuition: $10,000/month (four-week minimum)
